My Life in Books Tag – Blogmas 12/10

Today I’m doing another tag I was tagged in a long time ago by Orang-utan Librarian. Sorry it took me this long (again) and thanks for the tag. 😀 Also, if anyone else has tagged me in anything, please do tell me. I don’t recall any others, but I feel like I might be missing one or two.

Anyways. The questions:

Find a book for each of your initials

Initials of this blog are EL so… Empress by Shan Sa and Lye Street by Alan Campbell. I’ve read neither of these, but they’ve been on my list for ages. @@

Count your age along your bookshelf. What book is it?

Well, as I’m currently at work, I don’t have my shelf in front of me. So I’m going to count 25 books into my Goodreads ‘read’ list.

Rook by Sharon Cameron. This was a decent book. 😀 Here’s my review, if you’re interested.

Pick a book set in your city/state/country

Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. Haven’t read this one either. But I’ve watched the movie!

Pick a book that represents a destination you’d like to travel to

Need I say more.

Pick a book that is your favorite color

Empire of Ivory by Naomi Novik, the fourth book in the Temeraire series. I love this book and I love the color it has. 😀

What book do you have the fondest memory of?

I can’t show a picture unfortunately. I don’t know the name of the book. It was one my sister and I had when we were little. It was about animals across the globe and had a fold out map of different animals in their native countries. It was really cool and I still get nostalgic for it, but I haven’t seen the book in years. I think it got destroyed or lost. 😦

Which book did you have the most difficulty reading?

Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. Now, me saying it was difficult to read does not mean I found it bad. I actually really really enjoyed this book. The difficulty came from its denseness. This was really the first full-on scifi I had ever read so I wasn’t expecting the amount of information I received while reading. It was a really good book, a really enjoyable experience, it just took me so damn long to read.

Which book in your tbr pile will give you the most sense of achievement?

Probably A Dance with Dragons by George RR Martin. Finishing this book means I have officially caught up with everything. Currently I’m about seventy pages into A Storm of Swords, so no spoilers! I have a ways to go, but I’ll get there. Eventually.

And that’s it for this tag! I really liked these questions – they gave me a chance to mention books I normally don’t. 😀 I’m not going to tag anyone today as I’ve done that a lot recently.

Happy reading!
