Another tag today! I was tagged by Orang-utan Librarian, so thank you! And here we go:
Rules:
- Randomly choose 3 books (Tip: Use the “Sort > Random” option on your Goodreads’ Read shelf
- For each group, decide which book to burn, which one to rewrite, and which to reread
- Repeat until you completed three rounds
For sake of simplicity, I’m going to multiple volumes of the same manga. If I come across one, I’m just going to treat it as the series as a whole.
Round 1
Trigun Maximum, Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration and Iron Angel
Reread: Iron Angel by Alan Campbell. One of my favorite books ever, can’t bear to do anything else to it. This is the second book in the Deepgate Codex and my favorite by far. It has the character John Anchor in it, who is this guy walking around on the ground with a huge rope strapped to his back that disappears up into the skies. Won’t tell anything else, but he is an awesome character. Read it!
Rewrite: Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration by Nobuhiro Watsuki. Seeing this is already a rewrite of a series, I don’t see why I can’t just re-rewrite it. :”D I’ve actually done a review on this series, if you’re interested.
Burn: Trigun Maximum by Yasuhiro Nightow. I don’t wanna burn this one, but I really really don’t wanna burn the others. D: This is a really good series, a continuation of the original Trigun duology manga.
Round 2
Fruits Basket, Samurai Deeper Kyo and Anya’s Ghost
Reread: Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya. This is such a good series. Wouldn’t change a thing.
Rewrite: Samurai Deeper Kyo. This is an okay series, but bits of it definitely irk me. I’ll go in and change them. o:<
Burn: Anya’s Ghost by Vera Brosgol. Nothing against Ms. Brosgol, but I didn’t much care for this book. Easiest sacrifice out of the three for sure.
Round 3
Clash of Kings, Through the Woods and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
Reread: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson. I tend to reread this every few Christmases anyways, so it works out. :”D
Rewrite: Clash of Kings by George RR Martin. I don’t even know how I’d rewrite it – I just don’t wanna burn it.
Burn: Through the Woods by Emily Carroll. Nothing against this book, it’s just my least favorite of the three, so it’s the obvious sacrifice. 😛
And that’s it! I rather liked this – got to talk about series I normally wouldn’t bring up. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned Samurai Deeper Kyo on this blog before, but it’s definitely worth reading if you don’t mind the violence.
Happy reading!
