Beat the Backlist 2018!

Hello! Today I’m announcing my participation in the Beat the Backlist Challenge, hosted by NovelKnight!

This is a neato thing that I came across the other day and decided that it would be perfect for me!

It’s one of the neatest challenges I’ve ever come across – what you do is sign up and you’re assigned to one of four teams. Each team earns points and at the end of each month, a member of the team with the most points wins a book of their choosing! So there will be twelve winners total – this thing lasts all year! 😀 (and the sign-ups are open all year, hint hint)

To earn points for your team, all you have to do is read books that were not published in 2018! So it’s perfect motivation to me to read the backlog of unread books on my shelves. None of the books I own have been published this year, so I have about 300 potential reads to go through! Any book counts – rereads, manga, novels, nonfiction, all of it! The only limitation is its publication date. 2017 or earlier, peeps.

So when this post goes live, I’ll use it to officially sign up and then come back and edit it and insert my assigned team! 😀 So if you’re reading and there’s no team here yet, you’re reading it super early and I haven’t been assigned yet, hawhaw. Otherwise if there’s a team here now, then I have one!

There will also be weekly instagram prompts all year to go along with the challenge, which are listed here!  I think this will be a fun thing to do! 😀

My goals:

• Dedicate at least 2/3rds of my books read in 2018 to this challenge
• Participate in at least 2/3rds of the Instagram prompts (btw, shameless plug: add me on Instagram, I wanna see all your lovely books)
  • (if you add me, be prepared to also see cats, coffee and alcohol)
