House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski
This book left me so torn. Parts of it I love, but other parts I really didn’t. So while I was hoping to give this a five stars, but it ended up with a 2.75.
MOST SURPRISING (IN A GOOD OR BAD WAY) BOOK YOU READ?
Halo: The Fall of Reach by Eric S Nylund.
Surprising because 1) I had never played Halo so I expected to be lost and 2) I had never read military fantasy and had expected to be bored. But neither happened, and I ended up rather enjoying this.

The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins. This book really threw me for a loop, man. Ugh, I loved it.

A River in Darkness: One Man’s Escape From North Korea by Masaji Ishikawa. How could you not cry during this, really.
SEQUEL YOU’RE MOST ANTICIPATING IN 2019?
I’m gonna say The Burning White, even though I technically haven’t finished book four yet. I’M GETTING THERE, OKAY.
