Top Ten Tuesday: Books that make me smile

top ten tuesday(2)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by ThatArtsyReaderGirl!

Happy Tuesday! Today’s topic is cute! That being said though, I’ve only come up with seven. Read into that however you will.

Absolute Boyfriend by Yuu Watase – I reread this recently for the first time since high school and it was just as insane and hilarious as I remember. This follows a girl who orders a robot boyfriend… and then doesn’t make the payments on him. This is seriously an out-there manga and I think it’s great!

Black Butler by Yana Toboso – I’ve been talking about this one a lot lately but I can’t help it, I’m obsessed. This series follows a boy who sells his soul to a devil to help him get revenge on the people who slaughtered his family. And surprisingly, there’s a good bit of comedy in it. I love this series, man.

Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya – This one I love because it’s so nostalgic. I first read it in high school and was smitten, and watching the rebooted anime now brings back all the feels. This one’s really cute – it follows a girl who accidentally discovers the curse of the Sohma family – that they all transformed into animals when hugged by the opposite sex.

Demon Diary by Kara – This is another nostalgic one that I think about and grin. This is a comedy following a young man who gets named the next demon lord, and his retainer who has to keep him in check because to be honest, he’s a bit of a ding dong. This one is really cute and I love it!

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku by Fujita – This one is a fluffy, light romance about working nerdy adults. And that’s basically it. It’s so pure and nice and I get help but giggle throughout the whole thing

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine – This one is an old favorite. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve read it, but each time I cherish it. It’s a Cinderella retelling with strong main character and it’s just so fuzzy and I love it.

Island of Giant Pokemon by Tracey West – This is a book from my childhood. I used to have the whole series of this, but this one was always my fave. It’s about what it says it is – an island of giant pokemon. I don’t even know where my copy is now or if I still even have it. My heart, my heart.

And that’s it! If you’ve ready any of the above, lemme know! Happy reading!

  1. Black Butler deserves to be talked about aaaall the time, it was that good. Never apologize for that. I’m still totally in love with Sebastian (and not just because J. Michael Tatum voices him in the English dub, but also because of that, too). Fruits Basket is also so stinking cute and uplifting. I can’t wait for more of the remake, because I really enjoyed the new anime and how it’s following the manga more closely!

    Here’s my TTT post.
