The Christmas Cracker Book Tag!

Happy Friday! A tag today! I wasn’t tagged, so we’ll just pretend I was. I found this tag on WonderfullyBookish!

Pick a book with a wintry cover

The Girl from the Other Side by Nagabe – Specifically volume 2. I really need to catch up on this series, I’m so behind.

Pick a book you’re likely to buy as a present

Tokyo Ghoul by Sui Ishida – I actually did buy this one! I got my husband the full series. He doesn’t read my blog, so it’s safe to say, dun worry.

If you read my blog and know him and you spoil it, I’m gonna bop you. I’m talking to you, Amanda. :p

Pick a festive themed book

My True Love Gave to Me by a buttload of people – It has just occurred to me that I missed this book in my ‘All the Christmas books I’ve read to date‘ post I made the other day.

I forgot about this one because I unhauled it because I didn’t like it. Whoops. So throw this one in there too. It was festive sure, but I’m so bad with short story collections. I didn’t love this.

Pick a book you can curl up with by the fireplace

Hunted by Meagan Spooner – This is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and a very recent read for me. It was so pleasant. It was nice and simple and fluffy and the beast in this was actually a beast. Not a brooding hot guy. It was so refreshing.

Pick a book you want to read over the festive period

The Book of the Dead Days by Marcus Sedgwick – This book takes place during the dead days – the time between Christmas and New Years – so I figured it’d be the perfect time to read it! This book was recommended to me over ten years ago by one of my best friends and bad me still hasn’t read it. I’ll read it this year.

Pick a book that’s so good, it gave you chills

If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio – This book was an unexpected five stars for me. It’s outside my typical genres so I didn’t think it’d ensnare me so, but surprise, it did.

Pick a book that’s going on your Christmas wish list

Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse – This book just looks so neat, man. If I end up not receiving this as a gift, I’m gonna go out and get me a copy.

And that’s it! If you’d like to do this tag, consider yourself tagged!
