House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski

House of LeavesI honestly haven’t touched this one in a bit. It’s my go-between read a few pages here and a few there kind of book. I’ll read it eventually, hawhaw.

Golden Fool by Robin Hobb

Golden Fool (Tawny Man, #2)I’m buddy reading this one with Zezee, though I’m a big behind I believe. I’m almost done with it and am very much liking it. šŸ˜€

The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E Pearson

The Beauty of Darkness (The Remnant Chronicles, #3)This is my other buddy read for the month! This one Iā€™m reading with Meredith and another buddy ā€“ I haven’t touched this one recently either though. HEY FRIENDS CAN WE READ MORE OR WHAT?! šŸ˜€ šŸ˜€ šŸ˜€

His Majesty’s Dragon by Naomi Novik

His Majesty's Dragon (Temeraire, #1)This is my currently audiobook and a reread – this was one of my favorite series through highschool but I only ever read the first four and a half books – the series recently finished at nine books so I want to go back and reread them all in prep for finishing it all šŸ˜€

October Currently Reading

Hello! From yesterday’s post if you read it, you’ll know I didn’t finish any books this month. Well, I’m reading quite a few, all of them really effin big. So there’s that.

The Broken Eye by Brent Weeks

The Broken Eye (Lightbringer, #3)I haven’t actually picked this one up, recently. It’s fallen on the backburner, which is unfortunate since both of the previous books in the series were five star reads for me. Will I read this eventually? Yes. Soon? ….Maybe.

Embassytown by China Mieville

EmbassytownThis one last month I switched over to a physical copy to read because I really wasn’t digging the audiobook. Well guess what. I discovered why I didn’t like the audiobook.

Guess why.

THE AUDIOBOOK IS MISSING THE TEN PAGE PROLOGUE. I WAS MISSING SO MUCH CONTEXT. NO WONDER I WAS TOTALLY OUT OF JIVE WITH THAT DAMN THING.

Am liking the physical book much better.

Fool’s Errand by Robin Hobb

Fool's Errand (Tawny Man, #1)I’ve started a new buddy read!! šŸ˜€ I’m reading this book with Zezee, who has been slowly going through Hobb’s collected works with me! This is our I think fifth or sixth buddy read together. She’s a good buddier. She’s a good reader. She’s a good buddy-reader.

The book is pretty wonderful so far, too. Apparently I love Hobb’s books to the point that I actually got nostalgia when I read from Fitz’ POV again. It was like coming home. šŸ™‚

Also, I make a point to get the corniest Hobb covers I can find. I think they’re swell!

The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss

The Wise Man's Fear (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #2)So, funny thing with this book. I heard going into it that it was polarizing among fans, that you’d either like it or you wouldn’t.

Well, lemme tell ya. I’m seeing it, dude. I’m seeing it.

This book. This book. I’m about 600-something pages into it (audiobook so not certain) and it is completely ridiculous. It will be getting a full-length spoilery blabber that will be written likely while I’m drunk off my ass. I’m so looking forward to it. I need to finish it at this point. I have to. I wanna tear it a new butt.

.

And that’s it! šŸ˜€ Happy reading!

June Currently Reading

June Currently Reading

I made a new banner theme! It’s coffee in medieval times now. Thanks to Analee for writing a post about how to create neato banners. Maybe at some point I’ll make it fancier, but for now, it’s caffeine and swirly writing and I’m happy with it. Woot. :”D

At the moment, I’m reading four books, though I’ll likely pick up a few manga in between them. Yesterday, my friend lent me about fifty volumes of it, so I’ll buzz through that too at some point.

But for books:

The Broken Eye by Brent Weeks

The Broken Eye (Lightbringer, #3)I think this was on my Currently Reading from last month as well. It’s a chunker of a book, so it’s taking me a while. The third book in the Lightbringer series, it’s proving itself just as good as its predecessors. I wrote a blabber on the first book in the series, if you’re interested. This series is becoming one of my favorites. Ever. It’s just so good – it’s funny, it’s action-packed, it’s well thought-out. I love it!

Ship of Destiny by Robin Hobb

Ship of Destiny (Liveship Traders, #3)I picked this one up last week and am currently about six chapters into it (I need to read another today :”D). This one I’m buddy reading with Zezee with Books – we’ve been slowly buzzing through Hobb’s books now – this is the sixth one in her Realm of the Elderlings series, the third in the Liveship Traders trilogy. So we’re what… nearly half way through the Elderings Realm books? Ish? Somethin’ like that.

A Dance With Dragons by George R. R. Martin

A Dance with Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, #5)I had started reading this a while ago and put it aside – I was reading too many books and kept having to restart this bugger because I would forget what was happening. I’ve now picked it up on audiobook though, so I’m getting about 13 hours a week of listening in – it’s still gonna take a while to finish it though – it’s a really really long audiobook. I’ll get there though. And then I can be on the ‘Winds of Winter’ bandwagon with the rest of ’em.

Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting by Ed Greenwood

Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (Forgotten Realms)As usual, still flipping through this. I’ll mark it ‘read’ at some point, most likely when I’ve read all the passages I find interesting. I dig it so far – it’s helping me flesh out my gnome. :”D

And that’s it! Happy reading! :”D
