End of the Year Book Tag

Book Tag

Hello, a tag today! And I was actually tagged! Thanks Katy for tagging me! This tag was created by Ariel Bissett.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

The Blood Mirror (Lightbringer, #4)

The Blood Mirror by Brent Weeks – This poor book has perpetually been on my backburner ‘currently reading’ list since… May 2018. I actually even restarted it earlier this year because I couldn’t remember where I was. Right now, I’m 273 pages in, farther than I got last time, but I also haven’t really touched it since July. Ideally I’d like to get it done this year, but… who knows.

And it’s nothing wrong with the book. Honestly it could be a five star book, I adored what I’ve read so far. I have no idea why I keep not picking it up.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

Deathless (Leningrad Diptych, #1)

Deathless by Catherynne M Valente – Personally I think this book has a more wintery feel about it, but considering fall’s almost over, that’s ok.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

O Maidens in Your Savage Season 5

O Maidens in Your Savage Season vol 5 by Mari Okada – This comes out December 17th according to amazon, buuuut there’s no English translation of the synopsis on goodreads yet, so who knows. I’m pumped for it though.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Caliban's War (The Expanse, #2)Deathless (Leningrad Diptych, #1)Interview with the Vampire (The Vampire Chronicles, #1)

Caliban’s War by James S. A. Corey – Currently reading this, but it’s a chonk, so we’ll see if I finish it. The other two, Deathless by Catherynne M Valente and Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice are the last two books on my 10 in 2019 list. I will finish it this year, dammit. I will.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

Well… I hope all three of what I mentioned above are five stars, but the odds of that are slim. Fingers crossed, though.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?

Tentative ones, yes. But I don’t wanna say because I’ll jynx myself and fail, wah.

And that’s it! If you’d like to do this tag, consider yourself tagged!
