This is my first participation in a readathon, yay! This particular one happens twice a year, in April and in October. And to participate, you do what it sounds like – read as much as you can within 24 hours. Here is the website if you’re interested in joining! It just started 8am Eastern Standard time and will go until 8am tomorrow morning! (Adjust to your time zone accordingly. If you’re in California, it started at 5am, etc) Also if you do participate, make sure to follow the event on their twitter and website, as they do mini-challenges and prizes and stuff throughout the day.
I thought about making a TBR for this, but I’m just gonna wing it. I started ‘Angels and Demons’ by Dan Brown last night (the ‘book someone else picks for you’ challenge fulfiller for my TBR Jar) so I’m going to start with that right now. If I manage to finish it, I’ll move onto something else. This is the perfect day for this to happen, too. It’s the first saturday in weeks where I haven’t had stuff going on all day.
I’ll be active on my own twitter throughout this thing if you’d like to see how much I’m procrastinating 😀 Wish me luck!
Also, editing my post to add my intro meme! This is the 1st Mini-Challenge!
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I technically didn’t make a stack. I’m going by ear, haha. Right now I’m reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown and am rather enjoying it, so right now, it’s the winner.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Roast. Technically not a snack, but I put dinner in the slow cooker this morning so I wouldn’t have to stop reading to cook later. So, roast. :”D
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
One of the few things I enjoy more than reading is traveling. I want to go everywhere!
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This is my first one. I’m looking forward to reading all day and having it be something I’m intending to do, not something to procrastinate with… does that make sense? I hope it does. xD
