Happy July! Guess what, guess what. :”D I got an engagement thingy yesterday! I’ve been engaged for about six months now, but we finally went out and got a ring. It’s neato!
The reason for the delay was I had originally proposed to him, so I wasn’t gonna be all ‘Hey marry me, also I’m getting myself a ring to give myself while I propose to you’. Because yikes. Also, if you ever want a post on the engagement story… it’s a doozy. Like, gummy bears, hysterical sobbing, everything. I’m never, ever doing that ever again.
The main gem is a lotus garnet, the little ones are diamonds and the band is rose gold. SO’s wedding band and my own are also rose gold so everything fits together nice-like. 😀
So yeah, just wanted to share. It’s weird having a thing constrict my finger 24/7. I usually don’t wear any jewelry at all, ever.
BACK TO BOOKS NOW, FORGIVE THE INTERMISSION.
Currently Reading
Ship of Destiny by Robin Hobb
This is a buddy-read I’m doing with Zezee (at the time of writing this, I’m about five pages away from where I’m supposed to be for today, so I’m doing that after I’m done here! :”D)
This is the third book in the Liveship Trader’s trilogy and the sixth book set in the Realm of the Elderlings series. This book, this series, man. I love it but it exhausts me.
The Broken Eye by Brent Weeks
I haven’t actually touched this one in a couple weeks… I’ve been buzzing through GRRM’s fifth book, which I finished the other day, on audio and in combination with Ship of Destiny, I haven’t had much time for this one. It’s unfortunate, because I’m smitten with it. I suppose I should pick it up soon and get it off the cat’s cat tree so she can actually jump up there again…
Orange – The Complete Collection v1 by Ichigo Takano
Aside from there being multiple volumes of ‘The Complete Collection’ (you goofy naming convention people) this manga is pretty interesting. It follows a young girl who one day receives a letter from her future self, telling her of things to come and urging her to try to change her future. It’s a magical-realism type series, and I’m seriously digging it so far.
.
That’s it for what I’m currently reading.
In other news, I’ve been on a graphic novel/manga kick, so expect a haul soon. Also, the annual Half Price Books Clearance Sale near me is occuring at the end of the month, so I’m going to try really hard not to buy anything else between now and then. But then after that, expect likely another decent sized haul. Everything is two bucks, man. I’m gonna go bananas. If you’re near the Pittsburgh area, hit me up. I’m gathering a small army to go there, buy books and then gloat over them while eating lunch together.
In other other news, I’m going to try my hand at a normal posting schedule (gasp). My goal is two-three times a week: Saturday, Sunday and (sometimes) Wednesdays. I realized that writing on the weekend is the easiest for me to manage and I’m thinking I can pull at least one post off during the middle of the week. Obviously this schedule will not be solid if say, I’m doing a readathon that requires multiple posts per day, or doing Blogmas or something. But yeah, that’s my goal. Wish me luck.
Beautiful ring and congratulations! I really have to read some Robin Hobb this year! I did see the first two books in the Liveship Trader’s trilogy at a used bookstore and picked them up this weekend, so I have no excuse. Good luck with the posting schedule!

Congrats on your engagement! And that a beautiful ring there. I wonder how the gummy bears were worked into the proposal. It must have been very sweet.
And yeah! I’ll be on the look out for that graphic novel book haul.
